(Ecofin Agency) – Enpower Trading and South African solar company SolarAfrica Energy have signed a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to supply up to 100 megawatts of renewable energy.
This agreement is the first contract entered into by Enpower Trading which has recently obtained a license from the South African National Energy Regulatory Authority.
This license allows it to generate electricity at competitive prices, mainly renewable, from many independent energy producers and small producers, to transmit this energy on national and municipal grids and sell it to customers at a price lower than the applicable electricity tariff.
